Tarot Card Tuesday for the Week of 3/25/13

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

Can I just tell you that caffeine is my lord and master? No matter how I try to deny its abusive love I just can’t quit it.   Not even a mere 15 minutes ago I was sitting here at my desk listening to myself snore. In desperation I made my way down to the lobby store and purchased a Rockstar with my last $2.50.  I took a few sips and now I’m firing on all cylinders baby!

BANG BANG BANG!!

But I digress.

Just a few (caffeine fueled) random thoughts before we get to Tarot Card Tuesday…

1.        Go Away Already Winter!  I wish it was as warm as it is sunny outside but at last check it was only 39 degrees.  I mean, if you are going to go around and call yourself spring the least you can do is bring on the warmer temperatures.    Then again, if the warmer temperature starts creeping in that will mean I’ll have to get on the gardening chores and I’m still new to this gardening thing (and pretty lazy) so I don’t really know what I should be doing now.  Is it time to start growing my seedlings indoors or what?  Should I be plotting out my garden layout?  Any gardeners out there in the Massachusetts area Zone 6 that knows what the hell I should be doing right now?  Help a sistah out!

2.       Office Redo Update.  Remember my office?  

Well here it is now! 

So Awesome!!  Can I just say that Ikea is the bomb.com for real for real?   I love the futon sitting area and especially the wall color.  (Behr Jamaican Sea)  I especially love the energy in that room that makes me feel like I can write the great American Novel or do one hell of a finger painting.  PS see that giant picture over there?  My nephew and my cousin’s daughters painted that over the summer.  Who knew I’d have a place for it?  Funny how things work out.

The Devil Reversed.  Looks like we are breaking free from a situation that has been holding us back this week.  Have you been feeling like you can’t move forward because you are tethered in place?  Well if ever there was a week to free yourself this is it.  When you are released from bondage you find that the only thing that was holding you back was yourself.

Ten of Pentacles.  Hey, once you break free of your restrictions (self-made or otherwise) look at the success and abundance that is waiting for you!  There are good things coming this week; lean in to those opportunities and take those risks.  Only good can come from them.

Knight of Wands.  You are on FIRE this week!  Now is the time for adventure and taking chances!  Don’t miss out on the opportunities that are beckoning you.  Run towards them!

Oracle Card of the Week:  Sis Monia

 

The Oracle card this week is all about staying focused on your purpose.  We are all here for reason; this week is a good time to meditate on how you should be using your gifts to benefit yourself and the Universe.  I know I struggle with this one myself and I know I’m not alone.  Start giving thought to your higher purpose and be on the lookout for signs from the Universe.

 Whew.  The reading this week is making me giddy.. or it could still be the Rockstar.

Knight of Pentacles.  This will be a week of hard work.  Time to buckle down and get the job done.  You won’t find that this week is much fun and maybe it borderlines on boring, but it’s a good time to get all those chores on your To Do list checked off.

Knights of Wands.  Looks like you’ll be charging ahead on all those chores after all.  The Knights of Wands is fiery and full of energy.  Pick a project that you’ve been dragging your feet on and you will fly through it in no time.

Ten of Pentacles.  All that hard work will definitely pay off at the end of the week.  Looks like success is the final result.  So get on those projects and be ready to reap the rewards!

If you need a birth chart www.astro.com has  one and you don't even need the time you were born.  (I dont know about you, but I didn't learn to tell time until I was like 9.)

I just charted out my planets and here they are:

Sun:  Aquarius
Moon:  Cancer
Mercury:  Capricorn
Venus:  Pisces
Mars: Aries

Who knew my moon was in Cancer?  Perhaps I'm more sensitive than I thought.  That may also explain why Cancer men get on my last nerve.

Tarot Card Tuesday 3/12/13

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!



That's how deep the snow was on  the back window of my PT Cruiser, Percy.  Percy was highly offended.



Did you guys get snowed in by that surprised storm like I did?  What was that about?  Even the weather people were looking into the camera and shrugging. 

Don’t you love how we are all offended that winter is still here?  It could be because the stores all have summer clothes for sale even though it’s still March not to mention I’m in Massachusetts where summer doesn’t get here until June.

Like it’s supposed to.

Anyways…

It’s drizzling and rainy out today, which I think is better than snow.  Rainy days make me feel like I should be hanging out in a coffeehouse with my notebook and furiously writing the next great novel.

You know, instead of sitting in a cubicle with a cup of Dunkins listening to the clock on the wall tick.

Not that I don’t love my Dunkins.  But I digress.

Hey, how’d last week’s reading turn out for you?  Last week seemed like all that developing was happening behind the scenes because I didn't really see it happening anywhere else.   I guess that’s a good thing to know that the Universe is working for you even if you can’t quite see it.

So many Swords this week!  That means there's a lot a thinking, pondering and contemplating  going on.  Swords also signify air signs so head's up all you Aquarians, Libras and Geminis.

Knights of Swords.  Don't be too hasty with your decisions this week.. There is an urge to rush into something when you should be thinking it over a little more carefully.  Talk it out with others instead of brooding about the situation by yourself. 

Two of Swords.  Odds are whatever the problem is you can't come to a clear decision about it anyway.  The Two of Swords shows you at a stand off with yourself.   Sometimes in order to make a good decision you have to back off and let the Universe sort it out. 

Ace of Swords Reversed.  Now is not the time to take action on anything you are thinking about doing  anyway.  You lack clarity in the situation so it's best to take a break.  Maybe things will seem clearer next week. 

Besides.. it's raining.. crawl up on the couch with a good book and watch a Mad Men marathon.

Oh, wait.. that's the daydream I'd like to fulfill today.. moving on..

Oracle Card:  Throat Chakra

You ever have that dream that you are being chased by something you can't see but is scary nonetheless?   If you are being chased in your dream you are supposed to turn around and face it.  Confronting our fears is the goal for this week.  Odds are reality is never as scary as we imagine it to be.  Let your voice be heard.  Speak your truth.

Putting Words into Action

One of the things my sister and I decided to do in the New Year was to learn how to make bread.  Not the quick banana bread kind, but the yeast rising/ kneading for 10 minutes kind. 

You know.. by hand.  Like pilgrims.

Last weekend we made some hot cross buns that came out more like hard and cross buns but a few nukes of the microwave and they were soft and an appropriate accompaniment to a cup of coffee.

Last Sunday we made Sally Lunn bread.   

As you can see it looks beautiful.  Unfortunately, it was slightly raw on the inside.  We’ll have to leave it in the oven a little while longer next time.

  

I say “we” as if I did much of anything to help with this bread baking process. Although I bought the ingredients and found the recipes.  As far as mixing and blending and things like that....not so much. 

 I enjoy the idea of doing something more than the actual doing.  I will research how to do a thing until the cows come home but someone else has to take care of the cows.  I just want to have the idea and see that it gets done.  I’ve realized I am this way with a lot of things in my life

This brings me to my ongoing challenge:  figuring out what the hell I'm supposed to be doing with my life.

I don’t know about you but every once in a while I get totally overwhelmed with trying to answer the “am I on the right path” question. 

To add fuel to this out of control fire yesterday Oprah (who is my friend on Facebook and imaginary friend in real life) posted this:

and started a slightly crazed domino effect that landed me over on Marie Forleo’s  website 

In the video Steven Pressfield, author of Turning Pro talks about finding what you want to do with your life  and tackling it like a professional.   He suggests you put all your energy into perfecting the skill you need to be a professional at your calling. 

When I heard this advice I was like ::fist pump::: “YESSS!”

And then I repeated it to my Guru otherwise known as Mr. Bubble Burster.

“Don’t you already know that?”  he said

O_o

Well.. yeah.

He went on to inform me that I am a collector of information but that I rarely take action on anything.

::interject the sound of a balloon deflating:::

And that is my problem.  I don’t take action on anything because I don’t know if it’s the right thing to take action on or the right action to take.  I’m not a leaper of fate because I am afraid to fall.

And yet I know I can’t stay where I am..

 Basically I'm a big scardy cat.

By the way, this conversation happened at eleven o’clock at night which made for a great night's sleep that involved me torturing myself with “what am I supposed to do with my life and why can't I just do it” conversation.

I was still flogging myself with self doubt this morning as I made my way to work.  I happened to pick up a copy of the free newspaper, The Metro,  that was abandoned on a train seat and folded to the crossword section (the only part of the newspaper I pay attenction to) and the horoscope which read

 When I got to work I had this from today’s Note from the Universe:

Lanell, we're exactly where we're supposed to be, and there are still more hands to hold, bridges to cross, lives to touch, and "happys" to dance.

 and this from The Daily Love:

Are you ready to face a fear moment-by-moment, day by day and stretch into your uncomfortable areas, and are you willing to see how big and amazing and fun life really can be?

And Today’s daily thought Real Simple:

 I got a couple of things from these nudges from the Universe:

1.  I subscribe to a lot of daily inspirations

2.  I have to conquer my fear of failure and release the need to be in control of every outcome.

 3.  The time to do this is now.

Now if I can just figure out how to do this.  Maybe I can look it up.

Tarot Tuesday For the Week of 3/5/13

Happy Tuesday, Everyone.

How was last week for you?  Were the cards we picked on Tarot Tuesday (yes.. I still like that name) accurate?  I can tell you they were for me.  Even though the renovations are still going on, I can see the end in sight and despite a few setbacks (including my electrician falling off of some scaffolding!) my space should be  back to normal soon.

Whoa, what's up with the all the 3's ?   According to www.aeclectic.net "threes are about using... knowledge to take the first step or get the first results. It is about improvising our way through those early times of fragile development."    Looks like we are about to put our knowledge to the test this week.  Time to stop thinking about it and get it cracking!

The three of Wands indicates that the opportunities that you have been looking for are now looking for YOU.  Awesome.  The Universe is ready to work with you to expand your horizons.  When you see the opportunity, jump on it!  Now is the time; keep in mind that your best opportunity might be right outside your comfort zone.  Now is the time to go for it.  Think and dream BIG.  It is yours!

The three of Swords reversed tells us that perhaps the development and learning we are doing this week might be abotu forgivness.  Is there something in your past that you need to move past?  This week could be about releasing yourself from past pain and regret.  Take sometime this week to forgive those who have done you wrong, ask for forgiveness from someone you might have hurt and more importantly, forgive yourself and release all that negative energy.  Wooosah.. people..

Take some time this week to honor yourself this week.  Do something nice for you. Take yourself to lunch or out for a pedicure.  Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how cute you are. Hug yourself.  You are great!
